1. What Are Cookies and Tracking Technologies
A "cookie" is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. Cookies allow the website to recognize your device and remember information about your visit. Other Tracking Technologies, including web beacons, pixels, scripts, software development kits, and local storage, perform similar functions. Tracking Technologies may be:
- First-party: set by the operator of the Site (GSS).
- Third-party: set by a service provider or partner whose technology is integrated into the Site.
- Session: deleted when you close your browser.
- Persistent: remain on your device until they expire or are deleted.
2. Categories of Tracking Technologies We Use
2.1 Strictly Necessary
These are required for the Site to function. They enable basic features such as page navigation, security, session management, and access to authenticated areas. The Site will not function properly without these technologies, and they cannot be disabled through our consent tools.
2.2 Performance and Analytics
These help us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it. They collect information such as pages visited, time on Site, referring source, and errors encountered. Information collected through these technologies is generally aggregated and pseudonymous.
2.3 Functionality
These remember your preferences (such as language, region, or display preferences) to provide a more personalized experience.
2.4 Advertising and Targeting
These are set by GSS or by our advertising partners (such as Meta and Google) to deliver relevant advertising on the Site and on third-party platforms; to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns; and to build audience profiles for retargeting, custom audiences, and lookalike modeling. These technologies may track your activity across websites and applications. Depending on your state of residence, the use of these advertising technologies may be treated as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, or as "targeted advertising," under applicable law. You can opt out as described in Sections 4 and 5. We do not use advertising technologies to target you based on a sensitive health condition or to transmit sensitive health information to advertising partners.
3. Specific Tracking Technologies in Use
The following is a non-exhaustive list of the principal Tracking Technologies that may be used on the Site. The actual list may change from time to time; for a current list, please refer to the cookie preference center accessible from our cookie banner.
3.1 Google Analytics
Provider: Google LLC. Category: Performance / Analytics. Purpose: measure Site traffic, user behavior, and conversion paths. Data: device and browser information, IP address (truncated where supported), pages viewed, referring URLs, and time on Site. Retention: typically 14 months for behavior data; varies by configuration. Opt-out: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
3.2 Google Ads (Conversion Tracking and Remarketing)
Provider: Google LLC. Category: Advertising / Targeting. Purpose: measure conversions from Google-served advertising; deliver targeted advertising on Google properties and partner sites; build remarketing audiences. Data: device identifiers, pages viewed, and ad interactions. Retention: as set by Google. Opt-out: adssettings.google.com
3.3 Meta Pixel
Provider: Meta Platforms, Inc. Category: Advertising / Targeting. Purpose: measure conversions from Meta-platform advertising (Facebook, Instagram); deliver targeted advertising on Meta platforms and partner properties; build custom and lookalike audiences. Data: device identifiers, pages viewed, button clicks, and form submissions (hashed identifiers may be transmitted to Meta to match users with their Meta accounts). We configure this technology to avoid transmitting sensitive health information. Retention: as set by Meta. Opt-out: facebook.com/adpreferences/ad_settings
3.4 Other Third-Party Technologies
The Site may also use technologies provided by additional vendors, which may include (without limitation) TikTok Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, X (Twitter) Pixel, Microsoft Advertising UET Tag, HubSpot, Klaviyo, Hotjar, or similar tools. The full and current list of Tracking Technologies in use, with their providers, categories, retention periods, and opt-out links, is maintained in the cookie preference center accessible from the cookie banner on the Site.
4. Your Choices
4.1 Cookie Consent Banner
When you first visit the Site (and after any material change to this Cookie Policy), you will see a cookie consent banner. Through the banner, you can accept all Tracking Technologies; reject all non-essential Tracking Technologies; manage your preferences by category; and withdraw or change your consent at any time by clicking the "Cookie Preferences" link in the Site footer.
4.2 Browser Controls
You can configure most browsers to block or delete cookies, alert you when a cookie is set, and clear cookies and local storage on demand. Instructions are available from your browser provider (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge each publish cookie-management guidance). Blocking or deleting cookies may affect Site functionality.
4.3 Global Privacy Control
GSS honors Global Privacy Control ("GPC") signals broadcast by your browser as a valid opt-out of "sale" or "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising in jurisdictions where GPC is recognized as a legally binding opt-out mechanism.
4.4 Industry Opt-Out Tools
You can opt out of interest-based advertising from many participating ad networks through the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info), the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org), and the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (youronlinechoices.eu). These opt-outs are device- and browser-specific; clearing your cookies, switching browsers, or switching devices may require you to opt out again.
4.5 Mobile Identifiers
On mobile devices, you can limit ad tracking through your operating system's settings (for example, iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking; Android: Settings > Google > Ads).
5. State Privacy Rights and "Sale" / "Sharing"
Several U.S. state privacy laws — including the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (CCPA/CPRA), the Colorado Privacy Act, the Connecticut Data Privacy Act, the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, and comparable laws — give residents the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information and of "targeted advertising." Because some advertising Tracking Technologies described above may fall within these definitions, you may exercise these rights through our cookie banner, through a recognized opt-out preference signal such as GPC, or through our "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" page. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
6. International Transfers
Many of our Tracking Technology providers are based outside your country of residence, and we coordinate medical-tourism services with independent providers located outside the United States, including in Mexico. As a result, use of these technologies and your use of the Site may result in transfers of your data to other countries, including the United States and — where you direct us to coordinate care — the country where the treating provider is located. These countries may have data-protection laws different from those of your home jurisdiction. By using the Site (and, where applicable, by providing consent through our cookie banner), you understand that your data may be transferred to and processed in these countries.
7. Updates to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, including to reflect changes in advertising technologies or applicable privacy laws. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this Policy reflects the date of the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through a notice on the Site.
